Impressive

Pros:
Astonishingly well blended combination of a zombie apocalypse and Mario
Nicely done sprites
Really enjoyed the music as well.

Cons:
Backstory not too well fleshed out (but then again, most zombie apocalypse movies suffer from this weakness)
Voice acting was meh, a little too quiet.

You took two things that have nothing to do with each other and mixed them together quite well, it was an overall interesting flash and I'd certainly be interested to see more.

MurderMysteryMan responds:

Thank you, but remember this IS just part one. :)

Lookin' good

Pros:
Great animation: I can't even imagine having the patience to do clay animation
Good music
Solid action

Cons:
Uninteresting clay models: They were basically blobs with limbs and slightly altered heads.

Overall I was truly impressed. Just short of a perfect score.

mattuiop responds:

I'm generally in habit of making really simple clay characters as it is easier to animate them.
and it was rushed. thx anyway! :)

I'd be more impressed if I hadn't seen it before.

Don't get the headline wrong, your animation with the sprites was incredibly impressive and fun to watch, and the dialogue was new. I proabably would have given you a perfect score if I hadn't seen the same thing twice before.

You did very well, but like I said, been there seen that.

secondstamp responds:

Like stated, it's for a contest, ít's supposed to go down this road. You can't blame me for not taking a direction that would defeat the purpose of the parody, can you?

I actually feel compelled to review.

You actually did a good job with this one. A great job in fact. The music was good, and your sprite usage was also pretty good. The plot looks fantastic and I loved the cliffhanger you left us with.

I'll look forward to the sequel and wish you luck.

sleeeeep responds:

Thanks frien. I thought alot of people wouldnt like me leaving it at the fight scene but i always try to end with a cliffhanger.

This piece of &$%@ sucked!!!

April fools.

This actually wasn't too bad. The unenthusiastic regisration man was a nice touch, and the Metal Slug reference wasn't too bad. It was a twinge slow paced and the easter egg was disappointing.

There's a little room for improvement, but you have a nice touch.

BMack24 responds:

it's VERY disappointing, i know. i did say 'might' though. but hey, this was literally the second real flash movie i've ever completed. i'm sure i'll do better next time.

Surprisingly amusing.

Though straightforward, it was interesting to see the step by step progression of Mario's head getting drawn in and to see where the shades indicating the light source were added.

Nicely done here, it was great to see art in progress.

liable-to-explode responds:

Thanks! Very nice.

I've seen better, and I've seen worse

Though their were a few jokes that succesfully poked fun at a few common things in the Metroid series, but otherwise the flash was drawn out, repetetive, and not exactly what I would call a great flash.

Shadowii2 responds:

We all have different opinions buddy, we all do.

Amazing, you actually got a ten from ME

You have accomplished something not many people have done. You have completely and utterly wowed me.

I probably enjoyed the music the most in this one. The music fit in with the mood and added more to the feeling. The animation wasn't bad, and the plot seems like something. And not only that, but you've left us with a very good cliffhanger.

Well done. Kudos to you.

Enzer0 responds:

Honoured, cheers!

There was one saving grace.

While it isn't fair to the audience to leave a never ending cliffhanger, the saving grace came in the out takes of this flash. I found the out takes to be quite amusing, although again I express that it isn't fair to the viewers to never make a sequel or prequel revealing what Mario did to Luigi. While it is fun to leave cliffhangers, to never resolve them is a very cruel thing to do.

Yoshi-1up responds:

it's not fair to artists when their programs screw you over. :( stupid macromedia (now adobe LOL)

and i already said i finished it, its just way out of sync

It was good, but strange.

I do think I understand what happened, and while it was pretty good, the concept was just a bit too... jeez I'm not sure if there's a word for it. It was a bit too disturbing I guess if I do know exactly what happened to Luigi and Bowser.

Yoshi-1up responds:

YEAH THEY GOT JIZZED ON LOLOLOLOOLOL BAI

Scientists aren't the only ones who stand on the shoulders of giants. Game developers of today must be ready to carry the torch as well.
