I think this letter to Iwata summed up the impression that many of us who knew about him took away, furthermore the sprite animation from Earthbound and its music helped remind me of one of the games that Iwata made possible; and the words themselves indeed felt like something to say to someone after a parting such as the one that his friends, family, gamers everywhere, and the whole world had to go through all too soon.

On a more personal level this came at the right time for me I think; when I first learned of his death I am not ashamed to admit I cried... hard, and then the healing began when I looked back at the wonderful things he made possible, and sharing how I felt with others who understood, and now we have this upload: a measure of closure, and one I appreciate. I, and hopefully all of us, won't soon forget Iwata, and his loss will always be a tragedy, but it is tributes like these that show us that he has left something meaningful behind him through the people he has touched.

RIP Satoru Iwata, and thank you CVAnimation for bringing this to us. Five stars from me to you, and my heartfelt gratitude.

Impressive

Pros:
Astonishingly well blended combination of a zombie apocalypse and Mario
Nicely done sprites
Really enjoyed the music as well.

Cons:
Backstory not too well fleshed out (but then again, most zombie apocalypse movies suffer from this weakness)
Voice acting was meh, a little too quiet.

You took two things that have nothing to do with each other and mixed them together quite well, it was an overall interesting flash and I'd certainly be interested to see more.

MurderMysteryMan responds:

Thank you, but remember this IS just part one. :)

Worthy of a ROFLMAO and then some

Pros:
Great art, as always
Touched base with fans very well
Hysterical character reactions

Cons:
Only one nit-picky problem with the length. which overall ended up not mattering.

The show has definitely improved since its introduction to Newgrounds, very well done.

Potentially great

Pros:
Great choice in music and sound effects
Interesting premise
Nice animation

Cons:
Constant looping: Clearly not a flash meant to be looped constantly, yet no play button or replay button is making it do so.
Pacing: I found myself losing interest after Mario gets up from the bed.

You potentially have a great future in flash animation. Just need some polishing.

Lookin' good

Pros:
Great animation: I can't even imagine having the patience to do clay animation
Good music
Solid action

Cons:
Uninteresting clay models: They were basically blobs with limbs and slightly altered heads.

Overall I was truly impressed. Just short of a perfect score.

mattuiop responds:

I'm generally in habit of making really simple clay characters as it is easier to animate them.
and it was rushed. thx anyway! :)

Decent

Pros:
Great music
Mildly good sound effects
Very well done character animations

Cons:
Animation wasn't as smooth as it could be, kinda slow
No pre-loader, play button, etc. the looping is sort of annoying.

It was overall a good flash, but nothing so amazing that I'd show it off to friends.

Is this supposed to be funny?

It hardly even make fun of anything about Bieber, just some deranged people saying this and that inside of a pink house.

Encore encore!

Seeing Shigeru Miyamoto in games of his own design like that was an amazing experience to watch in a flash animation. The animation was very smooth and also reminiscent of the character's respective games, the music flowed with the flash pretty well, and it was an overall pleasure to place Miyamoto in worlds he created. Very well done.

Very very much worth the wait.

The Wario bros. involvement was hysterical, as well as other moments in the maze (and Luigi of course). Of course the action was as intense as ever. 8-bit or otherwise you do an excellent job at animating these incredibly epic fight scenes. And not to mention the thickening of the plot from start to finish. You did very well.

However long the next episode takes I know that it's going to be a great episode to look forward to. Good luck.

I'd be more impressed if I hadn't seen it before.

Don't get the headline wrong, your animation with the sprites was incredibly impressive and fun to watch, and the dialogue was new. I proabably would have given you a perfect score if I hadn't seen the same thing twice before.

You did very well, but like I said, been there seen that.

secondstamp responds:

Like stated, it's for a contest, ít's supposed to go down this road. You can't blame me for not taking a direction that would defeat the purpose of the parody, can you?

Scientists aren't the only ones who stand on the shoulders of giants. Game developers of today must be ready to carry the torch as well.
